<p>I&#8217;ve always loved to draw, and spent some time recently creating a series of drawings based on 19th century natural history illustrations.</p> <p>The octopus on this card is one of the results of the new drawings, and is centered above a sweet line of text reading, simply, &#8220;oceans of love&#8221;. The octopus is printed in a hand-mixed ocean blue ink, and the message is printed in a dark blue.</p> <p>My great grandmother used to sign her letters to my mom, &#8220;Oceans of love!&#8221; and the phrase seemed just a little too appropriate to use with this particular octopus.</p> <p>Each card is letterpress printed by hand on my 1915 Golding Official No. 4 cast iron press. There is lots of soft white space around the message on the front of the card, and the inside of the card is blank.</p> <p>This card is printed on pearl white 100% cotton (tree free!) Crane&#8217;s Lettra stock and measure 5 &frac12;&quot; wide x 4 &frac14;&quot; high when folded.
